Sunday's sermon was all about our physical life.
How we feed our bodies and how we care for our bodies matters to God. This sermon series has been teaching me that it's all about whole life stewardship.
I've been very intentional with how I feed my body for the last week and a half. I've been eating smaller portions, grabbing a piece of fruit rather than the bag of chips. I've also not had a carbonated beverage during this time...only coffee & water.
I still need to excercise. I haven't worked that into my schedule yet and I need to!
We also talked about the importance of regular check ups with your doctor. I reminded the men about the "finger appointment" when they turn 40. My dad sent me this story this morning concerning this all important exam. I have two things to say about this story...
1. The guy was 38 years old. The doctor robbed two years of his life by forcing this on him.
2. If we do some investigative work, I'm sure we'll find that this doctor had unusually big hands. Why else would he cry like a baby?
This story makes me appreciate the three years that I have left before I turn 40. I'm going to make the most of them!
Stay tuned...there will be a HUGE announcement in a few days concerning our Easter Egg Hunt. We are planning something that has never been done in our community before. As soon as the final details are worked out, I will let the cat out of the bag!

Dan,
Thanks for the post! I think I'll work on ABS of FLAB first! So far I lost 6 lbs.! I'm tryin' to be down to my goal weight by Easter.
I appreciate the time together yesterday. It is good to hang with you, John, & Gus.
Mike,
You are looking good!! Now it's my turn to put down the bag of chips (maybe I should wait til this bag is gone) On second thought...I better follow my own advice from my blog.
Love Ya!
Naomi
Dude, is that why you kept pushing the lettuce wraps so hard at me yesterday?
Naomi,
Thanks baby...you're not looking too bad yourself!
John,
That's right bro...more lettuce wraps, less Mongolian beef! Hey, thanks for lunch & the time together. I value your friendship!
Thinking about you tonight as we get ready to talk tomorrow. Bring it Mike. God has called you here and put a vision inside your heart. Stay on mission my friend...i sence huge Kingdom things at Elk Creek. Father - bless Mike and Naomi and their team tomorrow as they seek to bring the light to the West Grove area. May you grant them favor. None of us can do this apart from you...and one more thing God...thanks for sending such a cool couple to our neigborhood.
