Naomi and I had a great time out last night with friends at Buca Di Beppo. Through the course of our deep conversations, I used a word that got laughed at! I said, "I text-ed someone." The majority agreed that "text-ed" was not a word. So you mean to tell me that I have to say, "I sent a text message"?...why? If I send a fax, I can say, "I faxed something". If I take a test, I say "I tested well". Why can't I say, "I texted someone"?
I need your help! What do you think is the correct way to say it?

Hey Mike! I know we're from Wyoming so our word doesn't mean much, but "texted" is definitely a word. I say "I texted" quite often and have never had a question on it.
